How AstraZeneca smashed their car-sharing target

AstraZeneca, located at various sites across the UK, employing nearly 6,000 staff were looking to increase awareness of sustainable transport options, as well as reduce parking problems and reduce local congestion near their sites. As a result the organisation decided to launch a new private Liftshare scheme.

With a target set of 400 registrations over a 12 month period, promotion began. A series of teaser emails were sent out in the run up to 5 on-site launch events at DaVinci, Darwin, Granta Park, Alderlay Park and Macclesfield. Within a month of launch the long term target had been smashed and continues to rise!

And, with a 26% match rate so far the savings are already stacking up:

  • 1,716,450 miles saved
  • 326 tons of CO2 saved
  • £171,645 saved in travel costs
