Liftshare is very excited to announce that we have now completed the application to be certified by Cyber Essentials.
This certification works alongside the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), which comes into effect on 25th May 2018. With the growing number of cyber threats and malware, cyber security is of high importance. The certification is a great way for us to evidence to our clients that we are doing our best to keep their data secure.
The Cyber Essentials scheme is aimed at highlighting security controls that will help organisations mitigate the risk to their IT systems from internet-based threats. It is administered by the UK government and helps to protect personal data in our IT systems from the most common cyber threats.
As there is no single product that can provide complete security for a business, the certification process for Cyber Essentials involves independent verification to assess 5 areas of our system for keeping information secure:
- Boundary firewalls and internet gateways;
- Secure configuration;
- Access control;
- Malware protection;
- Patch management and software updates.
By having certified cyber security, we have a clear picture of our organisation’s cyber security level and promise our clients that we have cyber security measures in place. This will last the next 12 months, which we will review and update in one years’ time.
