Over the past few months, many of our 700+ Liftshare clients have used the Liftshare App’s “Trip Authentication” feature for their staff to track carsharing and rather usefully, it can also be used for Track and Trace purposes.
All car sharers are advised to read the Liftshare commuter guidelines before car sharing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The vast majority of car sharers at the moment are sharing with the same person each time which, as part of our Liftshare guidelines, is advised to decrease the risk of spreading the virus.
Trip Authentication works like this;

On the Liftshare Dashboard, the Liftshare Scheme Managers can see who has scanned with who, at what time and on what day. Having this information shows the managers who is car sharing and who they have been in contact with.
We are still encouraging all of our 700,000+ members to download and use the NHS COVID-19 app. However, by encouraging the use of the Trip Authentication software as well, clients can track which colleagues are carsharing via the Liftshare dashboard, which could be very useful in the event of an outbreak.

We are constantly updating our Trip Authentication reporting suite on the Liftshare dashboard to help our clients monitor who is sharing, what days of the week, how much money and miles are being saved across a scheme. This report gives our clients a holistic view of their car-share progress, and when car-sharing is being used the most.
